Cinematic demo reels for emerging and veteran actors

Overcome the notion that you must be regular. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary.
— Uta Hagen
A person filming a woman sitting at a table in a room with bookshelves. The woman is slightly out of focus, and the filming person is in focus, with a camera on a stabilizer in the foreground.
A man operating a professional film camera indoors with bookshelves, lamps, and artwork in the background.

Whether you are just breaking in to the film industry or a seasoned pro - a quality and diverse demo reel can take years to build up.

Stormland excellerates this process by building yours from the ground up.

With original writing, rehearsals, on-set coaching, and editing - you get a polished reel of contrasting scenes - whatever your level of experience.

Our Mission.

How it works.

First.

Book your package and be paired with a Stormland writer to create a unique collection of contrasting scenes.

Filmmakers and crew reviewing footage on a film set, with camera and equipment visible, and blurred foreground and background.
A film crew setting up for a shoot in a cozy library or study room with wooden bookshelves filled with books. Crew members are gathered around a woman sitting at a table with cups, while others prepare equipment and light the scene.

Then.

Acting supports are hired to elevate your scenes. After zoom rehearsals, we direct your demo in a day using industry quality cameras, sound and lighting.

Two men are having a conversation in an industrial-style room with a sign that says "Take the Time" in yellow neon lights on the white wall. One man is standing on a staircase, leaning on the handrail, and wearing a black sweater, jeans, and a green cap. The other man is standing on a lower level, wearing a denim jacket over a tan sweater and green pants.
A film director operating a camera on a tripod, filming two women sitting on a black leather sofa in a room with wooden bookshelves filled with books, with a lamp to the right.

Finally.

After top notch editing and colour grading, your demo is delivered to you within weeks.

A man sitting at a wooden table with two drinks, one dark and one clear, an ashtray with a cigarette, a napkin, and a black speaker, with a blurred smartphone in the foreground, in a cozy room with a bookshelf.
A tablet on a stand displaying a blurred text document, placed on a desk with papers nearby.

Tailor your demo.

  • Our Demo In A Day and Buddy Reel packages are designed to maximize value for you, our actors.

We’ve made them as affordable as possible and stripped of any bells and whistles. However, we partner with fight scene choreographers, studio rentals and hair, makeup teams and more to offer you that extra pizzaz. These are tailored deals so please inquire for pricing.

  • Work with our partners at Vancouver Action Training School to add some physicality to your demo! Mike and Rylan work with actors at any level of their stage combat journey and provide a safe and encouraging environment so you can feel confident bringing the heat.

  • Looking a specific location vibe? We have contacts with several studios for daily hire in town and can help work with you to find the perfect fit for you scenes. Alternatively, we can source remote outdoor locations as well.

  • Whether it’s your standard glow up or special effects makeup, we team up with local pros to make sure you shine that extra percent on picture day.

  • A demo can be whatever you want it to be. These are the creative arts and we enjoy any challenge you give us. Make your demo a short film shot in a day? Done. Want a “oner” shot on a steady-cam through downtown at rush hour? Staging a play and want a high-resolution, well shot recording? We’re your guys.
